One of the primary roles of JIRBNZ is to provide support for registered apprentices throughout their training period.

If you are considering a career in the jewellery industry please read all the information on this website. The Open Polytechnic of NZ runs a 3-stage course. Details are available on their website (see "How to get into the industry" and "Useful Links") and any further enquiries should be directed to the relevant TOPNZ course adviser. Industry apprenticeships are available, with priority is usually given to people who have completed Stage 1 of the TOPNZ course.

Note: If you are looking for employment in the jewellery industry, either in retail or manufacturing, it is recommended that you enrol in Stage 1 of the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand's correspondence course. Apprentices must complete all three stages. The course is NZQA registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and is 75% government subsidised. It is open to all public enrolments. Many employers looking to take on an employee or apprentice ask who is doing the course.
